Dream Stop-Motion

I couldn't get my stop=motion to export or whatnot, but I will get that up and going for you guys soon. This is my first blog post about art in general I suppose. My professor suggested that we start a blog post about our progress (art pieces). Honestly, I think this is a great idea, a place where I can tell people what my art is about. This stop-motion video (Dream) is about a man's confusion from reality or dream. The setting is the man on bed sleeping... having so-called flashbacks or imagination. He does not know which one it is. Tracing back through memories of him enjoying time with his lover... there is almost a eerie feeling when all the places that where in his memory (with his lover) are all empty and he is no longer able to see those images of them together. What it all a dream of could be or were they flashbacks about the past and reality? I wanted the audience to ponder about that thought, not so much have a definitely answer about the conclusion to the video. I wanted to leave the audience hanging a bit, curiosity really didn't kill the cat... but this project had it's ups-and-downs. It was hard being the actress as well as the artist because it was constant movement for me (back and forth). I kind of wish I never was in the video but that was last minute decision to bring the whole concept together of the man's contemplation of reality and dream. I would definitely like to go back and change a lot of the aspects that I was not able to fulfill but overall I was satisfied with the learning process more so than the outcome. Editing was horrible, but honestly it was pretty interesting and fun to play with placement and music. Next time I had a lot of ideas that I would like to accomplish.
